Introduction

Most people find it difficult to adjust after a serious illness or accident. A change in circumstances can be an uncertain time for people. We aim to deal with claims as quickly, fairly, and smoothly as possible.

Our Expert Claims Management is there at every step of the way for employers and employees. We sensitively offer support, advice, and assistance, assuring employees and give them the confidence to return to work. Dedicated Technical Claims Managers will meet with the appropriate HR staff regularly to communicate the status of all claims. This regular process identifies trends and highlights any information or areas of concern about potential or existing or new claims.

What do we do differently?

We have our own nurse led Early Intervention team accessible to all of our group income protection customers. It does not matter if you have three employees, or three thousand; you have the same access and service available with our nurses.

Our claims process is very efficient. Your employees do not need to spend €60 asking their GP to complete medical forms when submitting a claim. This leads to delays and makes the process more cumbersome than it needs to be. Instead, if we need more information at claims stage, we will organise for a nurse to call your employee with their agreement. This way, we get the information we really need which helps us make quicker claim decisions.

All of our rehabilitation programmes have been designed from the ground up with leading medical doctors, hospitals and clinics. We ensure we have the best providers looking after each programme which means we are agile and are in a position to make improvements quickly. We guarantee every single claim paid is considered for rehabilitation. Our rehabilitation programmes include programmes for brain injuries, COVID and fatigue along with cancer and mental health.

Our Vocational Services are provided by Absence Management Solutions, with who Irish Life has an exclusive contract in Ireland. We have worked with hundreds of employees helping break down barriers which were preventing a return to work. Our provider works with both the employer and employee working out solutions to what initially may have seemed impossible situations.

We have our own Wellbeing company! We are uniquely positioned to introduce you to your own Wellbeing consultant to explore opportunities. These may range from access to our complimentary wellbeing calendar to full employee screening and wellness programmes. Would you like your income protection to include a virtual GP service?
